Remembrance Day services to be held across northside
REMEMBRANCE Day holds a special place in the hearts of many Australians and will be celebrated across the country at 11am on Friday, November 11.
The day marks the 93rd anniversary of the cease fire at the end of World War I to commemorate all those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
A number of RSL sub branches in the district will hold services on the day with red poppies, a moment of silence at 11am followed by traditional customs.
Geebung Zillmere Bald Hills Aspley RSL Sub Branch’s service will start at 10.45am on Remembrance Corner on the corner of Newman Road and Collings Street in Geebung.
Sandgate RSL Sub Branch’s service will commence at 10.45am at the Sandgate Memorial Park on the roundabout in Browser Street, Brighton Road, Seymour Street in Sandgate.
Banyo RSL Sub Branch service will commence at 10.30am at the Banyo War Memorial on Royal Parade and St Vincent’s Road in Banyo.
