Business community gets behind needy family
THE northside business community has thrown its support behind a series of fundraisers for the Skiller family of Shorncliffe, who were dealt a savage blow when their five-year-old daughter Miette was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor on July 25.
Sandgate Lions Club, Sandgate RSL Memorial Club, Sandgate Woolworths, ANZ Bank, Brisbane City Council and Kuhn Corp Press (printing) have all offered to support the family through a series of Sunday fundraisers during October, as well as a gala dinner and Melbourne Cup Calcutta at the Sandgate RSL on October 31.
